Jefferson County Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) Maintenance Managers oversee the general and preventive maintenance of all WRFs across Jefferson County. They develop maintenance schedules, coordinate activities across facilities, and implement computerized maintenance management software to track and improve maintenance operations. Managers supervise staff by assigning and reviewing work, conducting performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions when necessary. They also prepare and monitor departmental budgets and complete reports on maintenance activities. Work is performed in both office settings and wastewater treatment plant environments.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position:
Driver's license.
Experience using and managing computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) (e.g., CityWorks, Infor, Hansen, eMaint, Fiix) to identify maintenance trends, manage inventory, and establish preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with industry standards.
Experience performing mechanical maintenance on various equipment including but not limited to pumps, blowers, valves, and other heavy industrial equipment.
Experience supervising and coordinating maintenance activities in an industrial plant maintenance environment being exposed to various types of equipment such as hydraulic, electrical, automation controls, and mechanical systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of an Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) Wastewater Operator Grade IV Certification.
Possession of a vocational certification or experience in welding, electrical, metal fabrication, control systems, or a closely related field.
Completion of coursework in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or a related field of study.
Experience leading change management initiatives in a professional or industrial setting.
Experience organizing and managing specialized technical units within an industrial setting or water reclamation (wastewater treatment) facility.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
Oversees the implementation and continued use of computerized maintenance management system software in order to accurately track maintenance activity and establish proactive maintenance procedures.
Uses information related to maintenance trends and patterns to establish proactive preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
Manages the performance of general and preventative maintenance of all Water Reclamation Facilities, located throughout Jefferson County to ensure proper and safe facility operations.
Communicates with plant management, vendors, contractors, maintenance and operations staff concerning maintenance related activities and initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and administers departmental or organizational budget by reviewing spending trends, expenditure reports, analyzing financial data and ensuring expenditures are within annual budgetary limits.
Produces reports, letters, and other types of written correspondence to document activities, communicate information, and provide instruction and/or guidance.
Supervises staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job involves moderate physical exertion required for occasional prolonged periods of lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve occasional lifting of items or objects weighing up to 75 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in both an office setting as well as in and around wastewater treatment plants. Work involves use of standard office equipment, such as computer, phone, copier, etc. Work may also involve the use of various hand and power tools including machining equipment and welding equipment. Job may require exposure to biological and/or chemical hazards, including raw sewage. Job may also require exposure to airborne contaminants (e.g., dust, odors, smoke, toxic fumes).EEO STATEMENT:
