Jefferson County Sewer Line Video Supervisors supervise a small crew composed of Sewer Video Specialists, a Heavy Equipment Operator, and Skilled/Unskilled Laborers engaged in locating damaged sewer lines by utilizing specialized video camera equipment. Work also involves participating in and supervising the crew in the repair of minor damage and leaks in sewer lines. The employee supervises the setup of closed-circuit video lines and ensures that the compounds used to seal leaks are prepared and applied properly. Work also entails printing out camera reports, updating Sims map, downloading information to servers, writing work orders and reports, and discussing findings with appropriate individuals. Work is performed both indoors in an office environment and outdoor job sites.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position:
Driver's license.
Experience operating sewer video equipment including TV inspection truck.
Experience creating a safe work zone to conduct work around traffic (e.g., flagging, setting up cones).
Experience creating a safe work zone to conduct work in or around confined spaces (e.g., utilizing tripod, blowers, gas monitors).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications deemed desirable by Merit System agencies. These qualifications may be considered by a hiring agency when reviewing applications and inviting candidates to participate in subsequent steps in the selection processes.
PACP certification.
Crew level supervisory experience (first level supervision).
Experience using a jet washer, combo truck, or other collection system equipment.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
Supervises staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training.
Ensures that pre-trip inspection is performed by checking all vehicle fluids, tires, and lights, filling the holding tank with water, checking the camera to ensure it is working properly, and taking inventory of supplies before driving to the job site.
Receives assignments and prepares for inspections by driving to job site, talking with homeowners/business owners to inform them of work being done, setting up equipment based on the job specifications, operating the camera and crawler, operating SLRAT audio equipment, and identifying problems in the sewer/service line and compiling reports for documentation.
Ensures that all safety procedures are followed while on work site by properly setting up work site and wearing appropriate safety gear.
Completes work orders by printing out camera reports, downloading copies of camera inspection, writing up work order forms, discussing findings with appropriate individuals, updating Sims map, downloading information to county servers, and submitting all reports to appropriate individuals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Job involves physical exertion required for sustained periods of light physical activity such as walking or standing. The job may involve moderate physical activity including stooping, bending, twisting, crouching or crawling. Job may also involve occasional lifting of items or objects weighing more than 50 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed both indoors in an office environment and outdoor job sites. Work may involve hazardous conditions including working around traffic, around rodents and roaches, hazardous waste, in rough terrain, and in confined spaces and depths.
